Cognitive Wellness, Mood & Sleep Support

Semax

Semax is a synthetic peptide developed from a short fragment of ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone). Unlike ACTH, Semax was designed to produce neurological effects without significant hormonal or corticosteroid activity. It has been researched primarily for its potential effects on cognition, memory, neuroprotection, and recovery following neurological stress or injury.

How Does It Work?

Semax appears to influence several signaling systems within the brain rather than acting through one single pathway.

Research suggests it may affect:

• BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) signaling

• Neuroplasticity and neuronal survival

• Dopamine and serotonin-related pathways

• Oxidative stress

• Inflammatory signaling in the nervous system

• Blood flow and cellular responses following neurological injury

BDNF is particularly important because it plays a major role in learning, memory, and the brain's ability to adapt and form new neural connections.

Potential Benefits:

FOCUS & COGNITION

• Attention and concentration

• Learning and memory

• Mental performance

• Cognitive function

BRAIN & NEUROPROTECTION

• Protection of neurons during cellular stress

• Neuroplasticity

• Oxidative stress

• Neurological recovery

• Brain health and resilience

MEMORY & LEARNING

Semax has been studied for potential effects on:

• Memory formation

• Memory retention

• Learning ability

• Cognitive performance

NEUROLOGICAL RECOVERY

Research has investigated Semax in areas involving:

• Ischemic stroke

• Reduced blood flow to the brain

• Neurological injury

• Cognitive impairment

BDNF & Brain Plasticity

One of the most interesting areas of Semax research involves BDNF and other neurotrophic signaling pathways.

These pathways help support:

• Growth and survival of neurons

• Formation of neural connections

• Learning and memory

• Brain adaptation and recovery

Possible Side Effects:

• Headache

• Dizziness

• Nasal irritation with intranasal administration

• Changes in energy or alertness

• Sleep changes

• Individual sensitivity

Important to Know:

Semax has been researched and used medically in Russia and some other countries, particularly in neurological settings.

Semax is not FDA-approved in the United States, and high-quality large-scale human clinical evidence remains limited.

Many proposed cognitive and neuroprotective benefits require additional controlled human research.
